Looking over the Red Shed to the new dormitories with the Crookhaven river behind
The new Scots College Reganville campus on the banks the Crookhaven River on the NSW South Coast is integral to the Scots Bannockburn Program. It will accommodate 80 Year 9 students and staff as part of Scots’ Bannockburn Active Learning program, complementing the Bannockburn and Glengarry Campus.
Design and site response
BJA designed two elongated two-storey buildings inspired by rural shed vernacular and sited in respectful dialogue with Halloran House, the Bell Tower and the Red Shed.
Simple rectilinear forms and modular layouts create a practical campus with a strong landscape connection. Dormitories and common rooms sit upstairs, with river and bushland views. Each room accommodates five students with an adjoining bathroom. Staff accommodation, kitchen, dining, lounge and teaching spaces are on the ground floor.
Outdoor learning connects students with the river, bushland ecosystems and the adjoining Bannockburn campus.
Environmental and heritage considerations
The design integrates stormwater, wastewater, bushfire, landscape and Aboriginal heritage considerations to minimise ecological and cultural impacts. The development was approved by the Southern Regional Planning Panel through Shoalhaven Council in 2026.
