| COUNTRY OF THE BIDJIGAL & DURAG PEOPLE | CASTLE HILL, SYDNEY, NSW | 2015 |
Fully accessible, two and four bedroom group homes were designed at Castle Hill for Warrah Society residents, implemented under the government’s program to devolve institutional accommodation into community housing. Completed in 2015 the home provides opportunity for a richer lifestyle and a greater degree of autonomy for residents within an urban context. Generous ceiling volumes and engaging colour schemes enhance the architecture which strikes a balance between individual privacy and social interaction. ESD integrates photovoltaic roof panels for power and reverse brick veneer walls to provide thermal mass.
