| COUNTRY OF THE GAYEMAGAL PEOPLE | MANLY NSW |
Manly architects BJA, embrace the original, popular beachside home and apartment design to create this Manly Boarding House. The beach and harbour suburbs of Sydney have many Californian, Spanish Mission style dwellings which remain since their introduction to Australia in the early 20th Century. The rebuild of this facade allows style and character features to live on with this urban accommodation architectural project on the Northern Beaches. It is tastefully presented on the leafy Darley Road amongst the idyllic architecture of Manly’s Eastern Hill.
For the most part, the design for the internal layout required documentation to the millimetre, to meet strict dimensional and acoustic requirements of Boarding House legislation. Plans condense and optimise the accommodation and shared living areas. Further additions include a 3rd level.
