MANLY
2007
The project involved the complete refurbishment of a 5 storey building on Manly’s Corso.
The facade of these buildings form part of the Corso Conservation area, whilst the body of the building behind has undergone many transformations over the years, including a period where it housed a multi level department store. Retail use at ground level on the Corso has been retained within the heritage listed façade.
The upper levels are set back from the Corso and been transformed into modern commercial spaces with lift access.
A second entry to the commercial levels was created off Rialto lane to the rear. This development has begun to reactivate the unattractive service lane, to make it pedestrian friendly and visually attractive.
